How to measure your dog's height

Follow our step by step guide on how to measure your dog's height.

  1. Attach a piece of paper to a wall or door frame (only do so with permission of the house owner!) (picture 1).
  2. Stand your dog squarely alongside the wall or door frame (picture 2).
  3. Feel the top of your dog's shoulder blades, at the base of the neck, with the front feet positioned directly underneath (picture 3).
  4. Place a ruler on the top of the shoulder blades and onto the paper – make sure the ruler is parallel with the ground (picture 4).
  5. Draw a line on the paper where the ruler meets it (picture 5).
  6. Measure the height from the floor to the line you have drawn mark. This is your dogs height (picture 6).
