Owners description:
Ludo is a lively but fiercely loyal and gentle Labrador Retriever. Bred from gundog parents that was to be his future, however Ludo is a bit of a scaredy cat! He hates loud noises and bangs and jumps at the slightest thing. He was the last in his litter to be homed, but has made a fabulous family pet.
I have a long term health condition and Ludo is my constant companion providing much needed comfort and reassurance. He is allowed on the bed and the chair/sofa when the special covers are on (24/7), and likes to pretend he is human!
He constantly carries a toy around in his mouth, one of his favourites being his toy ring (we have it in all colours!!) and he will play for hours bringing it for anyone to throw!
He is of course ball obsessed, so that is kept for his morning walks through the local park and further fields with my husband each morning.
In the summer Ludo loves having complete run of our garden and house, and will be found lying on the lawn of an evening enjoying the cooler air.
He is the first dog we have trained ourselves from a puppy (previously we had a rescue Lab X) and he brings us so much joy. He’s the best.
Reason for joining: As a former nurse and lecturer I know how important research and information gathering around health and lifestyle is for informing future practice, be it in humans or animals. So I was delighted to take this opportunity to include Ludo in Dogslife.
